ON CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP & ETHICS

I was among the 18 students enrolled  in the course Christian Leadership and Ethics.  The first meeting was of course orientation.  We then were asked to write the 10 commandments by memory.  That was quite a surprise! !! Then the following meeting 3 students dropped, then 2 and only 13 of us were left.

We learned many practical basic stuffs. To mention some are Gandhi's 7 Deadly Sins:
a] Wealth without Work
b] Pleasure without Conscience
c] Knowledge without Character
d] Science without Humanity
e] Religion without Sacrifice
f] Business without Morality
g] Politics without Principle

And to combat the above mentioned SINS --- Covey suggests 7 very important virtues
a] Self-Awareness
b] Imagination and Conscience
c] Will-Power
d] An abundance of Life
e] Courage and Consideration
f] Creativity and
g] Self-Renewal

In our life's journey, we need to be self-aware  that we are already going beyond the norm.  The class didn't do much activities compared to other courses.  However, we learned many things.  The NEWSTART GIFTS acronym was emphasized.
Nutrition
Exercise
Water
Sunshine
Temperance
Air
Rest
Trust in God

Gratitude
Integrity
Family and friends
Training
Stewardship

The three types of theories were well emphasized: theory X, Y, by McGregor and Theory Z by Ouchi.

We meet every Thursday morning.  We did have a term paper to accomplish.  Glad to have done the Perils of Power in Christian Leadership.  We met 18 hours in a semester and happy to have survived it.

I truly believe in this. How many flowers end up at the funeral home and how many
flowers did the dead person enjoy while they were alive?
Here's an e-flower from me!
Enjoy your day!

Flower Delivery ...

I would rather have one rose and  a kind word from a friend
while I'm here, than a whole truck load when I'm gone .

These Are For You !!!

Just Forward these to all your friends, including back to me.

And don't tell me that you're too busy for this.

Don't you know the phrase ...
'Stop and Smell the Flowers' ???

Let's just see how many 'Bouquets' you end up with !!!

Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrows keep you Human,
Failures keep you Humble,
Success keeps you Glowing,

But .... Only Friends .... (and relatives)Keep You Going !!!

See how many you get today !!!

Thank you my friend for being a part of my life, whether you are a reason, season
or a lifetime.

MIA VIAGGIO IN ITALIA---ROMA, FIRENZE, PISA, MILAN MAY 12, 2011

My trip to Italy was a lot of fun and excitement starting from the solicitation wherein I conveyed to my friends, relatives and siblings that I got an educational tour  and until the processing of my visa.  God has been so good to me for He sent people who understood my case and have had responded tremendously in order for this dream to come into reality. Initially,  I was not  part of the Reformation group of students, only my husband who is a member of AIIAS Historical-Church History, Systematic Department.

When my hubby mentioned to me about the trip, I was excited since this is one of my dreams to travel to Europe. We worked for our papers [Shengen visa] in the German Embassy.  It took us almost a month to process our documents. It never gave any inkling on my part that we cannot go no matter how the visa came quite late only 2 days before we left for Rome, our passport as well as the visa arrived. My husband picked it up for us.

The day came for our trip.  From AIIAS, Silang, Cavite, we opted to ride a bus to Coastal Mall area then rode a taxi for 5 passengers.  That saved us a lot of pesos paying only 250 compared to the van that costs 2000.  Our flight to Qatar was at 11 am, though we waited for an hour and a half plus the 6 hours of flight, plus 10 hours of waiting for our connecting flight to Rome. ' twas a tiring experience to try to sleep at Qatar airport.  I couldn't sleep, there were hundreds of passengers waiting for their flights to different destinations.
I also couldn't buy small stuffs since we still have a long way to go , 18 days to be precise for the main tour.

When we arrived in Rome the weather was fine.  Even the flight stewardess wished us well in our tour.  I praised God for the safe flight we had.  So, we took a train ride to meet the Filipino people who have manifested in assisting us our tour.  There was a funny moment that happened.  We tried to contact the guy, he was already at the agreed point to meet us, however, for our group we described to him where we were using the word "USCITA"---brother Peter, we are already here at Uscita---and he laughed, he was trying to ask which Uscita---and we tried to give him the directions---he said, there are many Uscitas here---then we found out Uscita means , "EXIT" in the Roman language.  We laughed hard, about that moment.
